ORRAA’s CRI Awarded Silver Anthem Award for Innovation
We’re delighted to announce that ORRAA’s Coastal Risk Index (CRI) has won Silver in The Anthem Awards‘ Innovation category.
The Anthem Awards were set up to honour the purpose and mission-driven work of people, companies and organisations worldwide. Our CRI meets this brief by enabling users to quantify the important role that nature plays in reducing risk and building resilience, allowing policymakers, financial institutions and insurers to assess coastal risk and make better decisions. The open-source platform provides maps and models of coastal flood risks across the globe, incorporating natural ecosystems (like mangroves and coral reefs), social vulnerability, economic exposure, and future climate-scenarios.
ORRAA’s Coastal Risk Index (CRI) has found that USD$363 billion worth of coastal assets would be at risk of flooding without the protective benefits of coastal ecosystems.
