About us:

Ocean Energy Pathway (OEP) is a global non-profit organisation. Our mission is to accelerate global offshore wind growth through programmes which support the energy transition, enhance marine ecosystems, and empower local communities.

We provide expert, independent support to governments and civil society to fast-track high ambition offshore wind energy. Through collaboration and engagement with leaders in policy, industry, and ocean stewardship, we support the development of an offshore wind sector that is sustainable, resilient and delivers lasting value for communities, economies and ecosystems.

Role overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a fast-growing not-for-profit organisation that is playing a pivotal role in the continued growth of the offshore wind sector and the wider move towards net zero for 2050. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy and sustainability, even if they haven’t worked in the sector before.

For the role, OEP is looking for a highly organised, reliable and detail-oriented Senior Project Associate to lead project management and help build partnerships aligned with OEP’s annual strategic plan for South Korea. This role will also manage in-country administration for South Korea and take on significant responsibility in the execution of activities such as conferences and events.

The Senior Project Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations and effective communication internally and externally to the organisation. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with strong organisational and interpersonal skills to make a significant impact on a growing organisation, in an area of critical importance for energy sustainability.

The role will primarily support the Country Head and Country Manager of South Korea, as well as working with OEP’s Senior Leaders and UK-based Secretariat.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management (65%)

  • Lead day-to-day project coordination, tracking milestones, and deliverables, using OEP’s project management and reporting tools, in accordance with OEP policies, strategies and guidelines;
  • Ensure all OEP South Korea projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and aligned with contractual deliverables, MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) outcomes, and OEP’s high quality standards;
  • Proactively identify implementation risks and propose mitigation measures to the Country Manager;
  • Prepare texts of MoUs, Technical Cooperation Agreements and proposals for projects to be submitted to partner funds, institutions or bodies;
  • Maintain close relationship with OEP’s Secretariat, leading communications with global programme management, strategy and policy teams headquartered in the UK to ensure smooth project execution.

Events and Forums (15%)

  • Lead organisation and co-ordination of OEP-led events and policy forums in South Korea;
  • Support the creation of thematic working groups or study forums;
  • Ensure the briefing and coordination of OEP participants in external events and conferences in South Korea and abroad as needed.

Stakeholder Management (10%)

  • Manage key relationships and maintain regular communication with project stakeholders which may include central and local government bodies, offshore wind industry stakeholders, fisheries groups, civil society organisations, research institutions, and international partners;
  • Represent OEP in its relations with other key stakeholders as delegated by the Country Head or Country Manager, including South Korean Government officials, industry, NGOs and civil society.

Administration (10%)

  • Lead administration for the team in South Korea, including ensuring expenses and invoices are logged, and diaries and travel are managed.
