Location: UK (Hybrid position, 2 day a week in London; fully remote can be considered)

Ocean Energy Pathway (OEP) fast-tracks the development of a sustainable, high ambition, global offshore wind sector, as part of a thriving blue economy. As a not-for-profit organisation, OEP delivers expert, independent technical assistance to governments and stakeholders and works with policymakers, industry, conservation leaders, and other stakeholders in the blue economy to build strategies to sustainable scale for the sector. Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, impact-driven organisation playing a pivotal role in the continued growth of offshore wind and the global energy transition. The role is also a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the setting up, management and effective reporting on a global spread of diverse projects across the domains of Politics, Engineering and Civil Society as we scale.

You will support the projects’ lead through managing all PMO tasks of between 5 and 10 projects at a time each, across a number of countries. This requires you to liaise with different functions at OEP, including in-country teams, the Finance manager, the Communication lead and the Partnerships and Impact Manager. Your contribution is key in ensuring the Programme processes and tools run efficiently. You will contribute to OEP’s Procurement process.

Reports to: The role will report into the OEP’s Senior Global Programme Manager. The role holder will work closely with the Partnerships and Impact Manager and with the Finance manager.

Key responsibilities

  1. Project management (50%)
  2. Archiving all project documents on OEP systems, adhering to the file structures and updating the Project dashboard;
  3. Supporting the project leads (in-country or at the OEP secretariat) through the management of all PMO tasks (planning and following up of budget, deliverables, keeping track of risks and overall timeline);
  4. Organising and participate in the monthly Progress meetings with the consultants (online); draft the minutes and keep track of the action points;
  5. Ensuring that the Partnerships and Impact Manager is included in the relevant project meetings and validates the MEL aspects of the project;
  6. Contribute to the projects’ evaluation in coordination with the Partnerships and Impact Manager and the Project lead.
  7. Liaise with the Communications lead about the dissemination aspects of the project;
  8. Liaise with the Operations team about contracts and budget.
  9. Programme management (50%)
  10. Supporting in-country staff and Senior Programme manager throughout the different stages from project idea generation to project kick-off, ensuring correct use of the templates and processes;
  11. Participate in weekly or bi-monthly calls with in-country teams, writing minutes and following up on action points;
  12. Organise and participate in Programme boards and Procurement panels (sharing documents ahead of the meeting, writing minutes and following up on action points);
  13. Contribute to the procurement process, sending RFPs and monitoring questions.

About you

  • You’ll be a skilled project management practitioner or have a solid foundation in project management methodologies. With a strong attention to detail, your organisation skills have enabled you to plan and follow-up on project tasks efficiently. You’ll relish in streamlining workflows, optimising processes and driving efficient project execution.
  • You have experience in diverse international contexts which has equipped you with a keen understanding of multicultural dynamics, for example with for profit and NGO stakeholders, governments or associated bodies. You are comfortable working remotely with teams dispersed across various locations and time-zones, fostering collaboration to achieve project objectives.
  • You’ll have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the adaptability to respond to changing project requirements enabling you to mitigate risks and ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget. Your commitment to clear and transparent communication facilitates effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders, fostering trust and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • You are comfortable working flexibly to meet sometimes tight project and programme deadlines.
  • You have a passion for renewable energy and sustainability, even if you haven’t worked in the sector before.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferably in Project management, Environmental Sciences or related field;
  • 5-10 years minimum of project management experience and/or training;
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies;
  • Good time management and the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines;
  • International experience, understanding of multicultural dynamics.
  • Experience working on projects in the not for profit/NGO space or with governments and associated bodies
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in another language is an asset.

Helpful but not essential:

  • Project management software experience
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of generating tender documentation, RFPs
  • Knowledge on offshore wind, tidal or even offshore Oil & Gas, ports or shipping experience; or renewable energy and sustainability in general
  • Comfort working with Google Suite and Monday.com
