The Ocean Conservation Trust, who owns and operates the National Marine Aquarium, is our charity with a mission of ‘Connecting us with our Ocean’. We are committed to conserving the marine environment and inspiring others to do the same.

An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our finance department.

The Finance Assistant role is a key player in all aspects of our financial processes, you will be responsible for our sales ledger including credit control, raising and issuing all customer invoices and monthly statements as well as bank reconciliations and assisting with cash management within the building

This is a role suited to a confident individual with a head for numbers, high attention to detail and excellent administration skills. The role will require you to work to deadlines, be confident in dealing with people and be a positive and supportive member of the organisation.

Strong applicants who meet the essential criteria below will be invited for interview. Salary is £24,570 FTE working 20-30 hours per week. The hours are flexible for the right candidate.

A successful applicant will be able to work their contracted hours in a pattern that suits them—for example, 22.5 hours over Monday to Wednesday, or 30 hours across Monday to Friday.

Essential Criteria:

· Experience in previous Finance role.

· Financially minded with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy at all times.

· Have experience of accounts office processes, completing financial tasks to deadlines.

· Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

· Highly organised with excellent customer service and administrative skills and able to work as part of a busy team.

· Has good IT skills, especially in MS Office packages and a keenness to learn.

· Enthusiastic, positive and possess a commitment to providing a high-quality service.

· Knowledge of GDPR.
