Marketing Specialist - Navigation

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Marketing Specialist for Navigation, who is passionate about working in the rapidly developing field of marine robotics.

What do we do?

At Nortek, we develop and manufacture world-leading instruments that collect information about the processes taking place in our oceans. We need to understand more about the role of the oceans in areas such as climate, food production, health, business activities and energy production. Our technology is used, among other things, for studies of coral reefs, measurement of currents and quality assurance of fish farming.

The newly established Navigation department develops high-performance underwater navigation solutions for subsea and surface vehicles.

The interest in the ocean is increasing, and our company is growing. With us, you will contribute to a product that can benefit millions of people.

What will your role and tasks be with us?

In this role, you’ll be the central connection between Nortek’s Navigation department and the central marketing team, shaping and executing strategies that elevate our navigation product line. Reporting to Group Commercial Manager - Navigation, you’ll play a key role in developing campaigns and initiatives to maximize visibility and establish a strong market position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies for the subsea navigation sector, aligning product positioning, audience targeting, and multi-channel campaigns (email, paid ads, social media, SEO, content, and events).
  • Plan and coordinate product launches in collaboration with internal teams to maximize market impact.
  • Create and optimize marketing content, including case studies, landing pages, technical articles, product videos, and sales enablement materials.
  • Develop customer personas and audience segments, crafting targeted messaging that resonates with key stakeholders.
  • Manage and refine social media strategy, increasing brand visibility and engagement within the subsea navigation community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, influencers, and distributors to strengthen market presence.
  • Analyze industry trends, customer insights, and emerging technologies to enhance marketing effectiveness and to inform product improvements and strategic adjustments.
  • Support tradeshows and industry events, ensuring strong brand representation through demonstrations, presentations, and networking.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Extensive work experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
  • Proven experience (3 years +) in B2B marketing, preferably within the technology, oceanography, or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in managing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, content, and event marketing.
  • Proven track record in lead generation and brand development is highly valued as well as experience in ABM, email marketing, and demand generation tactics.
  • Proficiency in HubSpot and Craft CMS is a plus.

Key Personal Skills for success:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English; Norwegian is a plus.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working with internal teams, partners and industry stakeholders
  • Creative, with ability to see the bigger picture and align marketing efforts with business goals
  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical information into compelling marketing content.
  • Results-oriented, analytical and self-motivated

What can we offer?

We are committed to your success with us and ensure that you receive good onboarding from the start. In addition to a digital introductory program, you will be enrolled in the Nortek Academy - an in-person introductory program that provides insights about all of the teams and processes happening at Nortek. It is also a great opportunity to meet other new employees from Norway and our 8 global subsidiaries physically.

At Nortek, you will be involved in many exciting tasks! You will experience great personal and professional development opportunities and gain valuable insights into our business.

Although we are established in many countries, as a Norwegian-owned company we have managed to maintain an informal tone and short decision-making paths. As an employee with us, it will give you great opportunities to influence our future and you will hopefully see the result of what you are working on relatively quickly. With us, you will feel that your contribution makes a big difference.

Our culture, employee well-being and a good working environment are important to us. We have a good diversity of nationalities, ages and professional backgrounds and have several social activities that are driven forward by our own employees and our social committee. In 2024, we have done bowling, down-hill skiing, rafting etc. Our employees have access to rent our company cabins at Norefjell and in France. We generally have low turnover and high job satisfaction.

In addition to a very popular canteen arrangement, parking with charging station outside the office building at Rud and the possibility of a home office, we offer competitive salary terms.

This job role is preferably placed in Rud in Bærum close to Oslo, or Trondheim. Please specify which location is preferred in your application.

Application deadline 09.03.2025. If you have any questions, please contact hiring manager Rory Findlay; rory.findlay@nortekgroup.com

About Nortek Group

Nortek designs, develops and produces scientific instruments that apply the Doppler principle to underwater acoustics in order to measure water in motion, such as currents and waves.

We provide truly innovative, robust, and accurate instruments, backed up by advanced software and comprehensive support to ensure customers maximize value from their measurements.

Our solutions make a big difference.

These instruments are used by scientists, researchers and engineers at renowned institutions and government agencies worldwide. They are employed in demanding environments that require state-of-the-art instrumentation that is reliable and easy to use.

Our exploratory devices help cast light on the workings of the world’s oceans, which occupy vast swathes of the planet, but are still little understood.

Most of Nortek’s technology is based on a scientific physical principle called the Doppler effect. This relates to the change in frequency (or pitch) when a sound source moves with respect to an observer.

By measuring these changes in frequency/phase, our instruments accurately measure profiles of speed and direction of complex water motion.

Nortek’s product portfolio ranges from wave measurement systems to single-point turbulence sensors and oceanic current profilers. Our product range covers four themes: ocean waves, ocean currents, turbulent flow and subsea navigation.

Our objective is to excite users with useful, innovative technology underpinned by oceanographic science and research. We work systematically with quality and are certified by leading quality assurance organizations.
