About the role
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Logistics Technician to provide operational support across our yard, warehousing, and quayside facilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, movement and handling of goods and equipment, including loading and unloading at dockside locations. You will operate forklifts (Class B1 & higher) and cranes in line with health and safety regulations, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
You will primarily support yard operations helping to manage storage and coordinate movements in a timely manner. You will also assist Engineering teams with the mobilisation and demobilisation of research vessels, including loading and unloading containers for transport to and from vessels.
The role will also involve general yard movements, shunting operations, and crane work. This is a hands-on position that can be physically demanding at times, so a good level of fitness is important.

Location
This position will be based in Southampton. The centre is well connected by public transport and has ample cycle parking in addition to free onsite car-parking with over 40 EV charging points.
