About the role

The Marine Information Products and Services (MIPS) is a well-established team in NOCI. The team skills focus on the creation of professional software products for tidal prediction and analysis and in the use of these products in-house to provide a professional and efficient service offering data, consultancy and advice to private, public and academic sectors

This role will be supporting customers who enquire about our software and data products, from initial enquiries, quotes, preparing data and generating invoices whilst maintaining the excellent levels of customer service and support.

The role will include, but is not limited to, the provision accurate data and data products, setting up the software to suit each customer’s needs whilst maintaining excellent levels of customer service and support. You will maintain good customer relationships with face to face meetings, attend events to promote our products and gather customer feedback. You will contribute to discussions on future development making sure our products fully reflect NOC's excellence and expertise. You will create training videos, information sheets and other tools for Hubspot to complement our business offering.

 

About you

You are motivated to work within NOC-I to help deliver commercial value from NOC’s world-leading scientific research and have a desire to facilitate an efficient and professional service supplying reliable & comprehensive data/info to NOC Innovations’ customers. You have a flexible and organised approach to your work, with a keen eye for detail. You will be willing to both follow and enhance procedures to improve working methods.

You have a background in a STEM subject to degree or equivalent level or have equivalent work experience in a technical environment. Through your career experience you are able to demonstrate that you have confidence in using MS Office and other platforms to perform a wide variety of tasks including manipulating data, analysis, and preparation of both reports and data for customers.

You are equally comfortable working as part of a team or independently and capable of making informed decisions. You are able to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation and build relationships with external customers across the world.

Your excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills enable you to effectively communicate with a wide range of internal and external customers. You will contribute ideas into the team to support the ongoing income diversification challenge. You will be comfortable working with software developers, marine scientists and business development staff utilising customer feedback you have gathered to input into the design of our software products making sure products fully reflect NOC's excellence and expertise.

You will be involved in the delivery of the existing suite of NOC’s commercial software products and services, including contractual work to the Environment Agency.

You will thrive on the ability to promote our software, providing demonstrations, helping customers with set-up and providing support. You will have experience of HubSpot or a similar CRM, experience with Unit 4 would also be beneficial.

Location

This position will be based in Liverpool. The centre is part of the University campus and is only a short walk from the city centre and Lime Street station.
