Purchasing Manager
The Purchasing Manager responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships
with suppliers, coordinating with internal team members regarding supply needs and overseeing the purchasing
team and their daily activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for maintaining the inventory and parts availability for all production activities.
• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
• Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
• Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, and timelines.
• Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records and related documentation.
• Coordinate inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
• Ensure all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Work to continually improve purchasing systems and processes.
• Work closely with internal resources (Finance, Engineering and Customer support) and external
suppliers ensuring parts availability for all scheduled assemblies.
Basic Qualifications
• BS degree in an applicable field: supply chain management, logistics, business, finance, economics, etc.
• 8+ Years in a purchasing role in a manufacturing setting
• Experience reviewing vendor quotes and placing/monitoring purchase orders.
• Experience in using inventory software tool. Familiarity with MiSys Manufacturing MRP software is a plus.
• Experience determining, reviewing, and maintaining unit costs on manufactured assemblies.
• Ability to work with management to set priorities and effectively manage and organize multiple tasks with
competing demands.
• Attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments and office locations.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
• BS/MS degree in Supply Chain Management
• Prior experience managing a purchasing group or department.
• Prior experience sourcing CNC machined parts (drilling, milling, turning, etc.) and processes (heat treating,
anodizing, grinding, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Teams, Office, and MRP/ERP software.
