Funded PGR internship with ESS on seafloor integrity
MASTS
MASTS are delighted to be able to offer an exciting 3-month funded internship opportunity with Environmental Standards Scotland to a PGR registered at a MASTS HEI partner.
The aim of this internship is to produce a report that syntheses current scientific evidence on the effectiveness of marine protected areas, and other measures in mitigating physical disturbance to benthic habitats and species in Scottish seas. This will include assessing available evidence regarding the ability of MPA measures to mitigate the pressures caused by activities associated with physical disturbance and enable recovery of benthic species and habitats following the removal of physical disturbance pressure.
This internship opportunity is only open to current PhD candidates registered at a MASTS partner HEI*. Interested PGRs should send a short 2-page CV and short 2-page cover letter to masts@st-andrews.ac.uk before 1700 on Friday 17th January. Any queries can be directed to this email address in the first instance.
*MASTS partner HEIs include the Universities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier, Essex, Glasgow, Heriot Watt, Queen’s University Belfast, Robert Gordon, St Andrews, Stirling, Strathclyde, West of Scotland and the Highlands & Islands.
