NERC Research Capital and Place (RCaP) team have launched a recruitment process for additional members to join Future Marine Research Infrastructure (FMRI) Science Advisory Group (SAG).

We require expert advice from the community to understand the capability required for future marine research and develop a compelling case for the infrastructure needed. This is an unique opportunity to be involved in shaping the next generation of large-scale research infrastructure for UK marine science.

We are looking for up to four members from any sector and particularly welcome applications from individuals with expertise in:

  • modelling (observations or model integration)
  • large scale ocean physics
  • geology
  • global scale ocean observing
  • sustainable ocean management
  • marine science policy
  • marine research project delivery
  • technical expertise, operation and management of autonomous systems (updated)

The SAG members advise the FMRI Programme Leadership Team and FMRI Board regarding the scientific aspects of the programme, highlight opportunities for complementarity with other initiatives, act as a channel for engagement between the wider science community and the FMRI programme and provide advice and support to the programme.
