Lynker is seeking a highly qualified Deputy Program Manager & Supplemental Project Manager to support the Office of Modeling and Development (OMD) within the National Weather Service (NWS). The successful candidate will provide technical, project, and program management leadership for a broad portfolio of scientific and operational projects supporting NOAA's environmental modeling, data assimilation, numerical weather prediction, and the Unified Forecast System (UFS). The work location is the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP) in College Park, Maryland.
This position serves in a hybrid role as a Project Manager, Technical Task Lead, and Deputy Program Manager, working closely with Federal Oversight Managers (FOMs), the Contract Program Manager (PM), the Contract Office Representative (COR), and OMD senior leadership. The successful candidate will oversee the development, improvement, and implementation of advanced scientific programming and numerical modeling techniques while ensuring successful contract performance and alignment with program objectives. This role involves leading and supporting various projects and solving state-of-the-art geophysical problems. The candidate will work both independently and collaboratively, assist in overseeing projects, and collaborate with OMD management, scientists, and external partners to develop and apply innovative methods within their work areas.
