See open jobs at Living Oceans Society.See open jobs similar to "Field Technicians" Schmidt Marine.We are looking for people who love the outdoors and are interested in wilderness camping, hiking and stewardship to participate in a large project to remove plastic marine debris from shorelines on Northern Vancouver Island and the Scott Islands during the summer/fall of 2024. This is an amazing opportunity to spend time caring for some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, while protecting all kinds of marine life and seabirds. Training will be provided at the beginning of the project.
Participants will camp for up to 10 days at a time before returning home for days off. A moderate level of physical fitness is required, including the ability to hike with a pack and lift heavy objects. In addition to collecting, tallying, and bagging plastics, all staff will be expected to do their share of cooking, cleaning, and general camp maintenance.
Position based in: various remote Northern Vancouver Island beaches
Employment type: full-time seasonal
Starting date: flexible
Wages: $30 per hour including mandatory employment-related benefits
