To further develop our Ocean Data Platform, we are searching for interns. INTERN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
We are looking for a detailed oriented, structured and outgoing person to be a part of our team in 2025!
The software Engineering Team in HUB Ocean is responsible for building Ocean Data Platform end to end. The team is responsible for design, development, test, monitor and security enhancement of the whole platform.
As an example, our novel algorithm in our platform can retrieve millions of rows in seconds. Our data catalog will be integrated with other geospatial and ocean data catalogs.
You will as an intern get the chance to see how it is to work across internal teams and the full software development cycle in a cloud native environment.
You will receive necessary training including the modern API and Performance Test framework and take part in preparing test automation including API test, end to end test and performance test.
You will get firsthand experience with API first strategy and SDK development.
The position also includes agile project execution, issue handling as well as sprint management.
Furthermore, you will also get the opportunity to take part in technical discussions and present test results to the whole company. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, structured and outgoing, with project management, communication, and cooperative skills.

The internship
- Introduction to the entire HUB Ocean organization
- Learn by doing real tasks in the Software Engineering Team, and learn from a dynamic team with long experience and deep knowledge of software engineering
- Test advanced applications with high performance and scalability using Typescript, API and Python
- Participate in development work such as SDK development
- Plan and coordinate some sprint meetings.
- Present the test result to the team and whole company.
- Future career opportunities within HUB Ocean and in the wider Aker network
Required qualifications and experience
- Minimum three years of completed studies (3rd or 4th year student)
- Good academic results
- You have good programming skill in Python or Typescript
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SDK development/management, APIs Design and CI/CD solutions such as Github actions
- Familiarity with Azure, GCP or AWS is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Interested in project management.
- Has the capacity to work more than 50% for at least 6 months
- Fluent in English, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be eligible to live in - and complete an internship in Norway
