To further develop our Ocean Data Platform, we are searching for candidates to fill the position as Software Engineer. We seek candidates with the passion and capabilities to build this game-changing hub and unleash the opportunities in linking data-driven solutions with the needs of the ocean.
As our Software Engineer you will provide technical expertise and hands-on skills in design, development, testing and maintain of our Ocean Data Platform.

Job purpose
Join our development team and collaborate closely with our data science and engineering team to develop efficient framework for utilizing ocean data.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop, test and maintain advanced applications with high performance and scalability for backend.
- Collaborate with data team and Growth and Impact team to define, design, and ship new features.
- Support and optimize data engineers and data scientists working tooling (Prefect, jupyter, dask etc) to make them stable, performant and scalable.
- Leverage DevOps practices and principles to help scale developer’s productivity, and continuously contribute to improve our engineering standards.
- Resolve or mitigate incidents and issues.
- Participate partner/customer/user discovery meetings.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- You have 4+ years of full-time backend engineering experience.
- Some experience using and managing big data and/or data science environment (i.e airflow, prefect, jupyter, sagemaker, dataflow, vetex AI)
- Experience with cloud development, including Kubernetes, Docker or other related technologies.
- Some experience with asynchronous and distributed system programming
- Experience with RESTful APIs, APIs Design
- Familiarity with CI/CD solutions such as Github actions
- Fluent in English, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Geospatial data is a plus.
- Experience with system architecture/solution architecture is a plus
- Experience in a fast-growing tech organization building SAAS is a plus
