Hefring Engineering, an ocean engineering startup, is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team. As an Assembly Technician, you will work on the assembly and testing of our new autonomous ocean glider. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a startup company with innovative projects that have the potential to make a significant impact on ocean understanding, climate research, and defense.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test electrical and electronic parts for the low drag ocean glider
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues and have a strong understanding of quality control processes
  • Perform testing of finished products and record data
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Provide feedback to the Engineering team to improve the assembly process
  • Collaborate with other team members and actively participate in team meetings
  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant training and/or certification
  • At least 5 years of experience in assembly and testing of electronic parts
  • Excellent manual dexterity for working with very small parts in tight spaces
  • Understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Familiarity with electronic component identification and measurement tools
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs
  • Excellent communication skills
