Starting Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000

The Donor Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in engaging GMRI’s donors in the mission and impact. The DEC develops, curates, and executes donor-centric outreach and experiences that deeply engage donors and prospective donors, creating and facilitating meaningful connections with our work and organization.

This position is responsible for coordinating, executing, and enhancing donor engagement programs to support donor retention, cultivation, and stewardship. A successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail and a creative and team-oriented mindset. The Donor Engagement Coordinator reports to the Annual Giving Manager and work closely with colleagues across the Development team and the wider organization.

Responsibilities:

Development Events

  • Create, coordinate, and implement development events plan, aligning with fundraising goals, program strategies, and donor benefits, under the direction of the Annual Giving Manager.
  • Coordinate event programs, logistics, staffing, communications, and day-of execution for events on the development calendar.
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors, partners, GMRI staff, and leadership to ensure seamless events.
  • Create and share event planning documents, assign internal staff roles, and ensure all parties are well-prepared.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for attendees, responding to inquiries and RSVPs with professionalism.
  • Track event expenses under the supervision of the Annual Giving Manager.
  • Manage post-event admin tasks and processes, including event debriefs, attendee follow-up and next actions, and follow-up content coordination.
  • Assist in evaluating event strategies based on goals set by the Annual Giving Manager and contribute to event strategy development.

Donor Engagement Program Coordination, Support, & Administration

  • Create, coordinate, and support a cohesive donor experience for donor tours, curated experiences, tabling opportunities, etc., with support and input from the Annual Giving Manager, frontline fundraisers, and marketing team.
  • Partner and support the Corporate and Foundation Relations team in creating and coordinating opportunities to deepen corporate engagement.
  • Coordinate with gift officers and the President’s Office to ensure donor recognition items (e.g., visit gifts) are distributed, tracked, and inventoried appropriately.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory of fundraising materials and donor recognition items, adjusting based on trends, insights, and usage in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Support the development and administration of a donor insights program in collaboration with project leads and senior Development staff.
  • Help create and manage the department’s communications calendar, including deploying fundraising communications and impact reports, incorporating donor engagement and recognition goals into each touchpoint.
  • Track and enter data related to engagement activities into CRM, such as visit gifts, contact information updates, etc.
  • Coordinate and execute non-event giving society benefit fulfillment.
  • Support appeal processes by assisting with follow-up, data management, and task execution in collaboration with the Philanthropy Services team and Annual Giving Manager.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent.
  • Experience in events is necessary.
  • Comfort with delegation and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems, Mailchimp, Asana, and Eventbrite is desirable but not necessary.
