Ocean Job Board

Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute
The Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute (GMGI) is a pioneering research organization that uses genomic approaches to address critical challenges facing our oceans, human health, and the environment through innovative scientific research and education.
We are looking for a highly innovative and motivated Marine Genomics: Bioinformatics Intern with experience in bioinformatics and computational biology to contribute to developing molecular tools to predict the age of fish via epigenetic aging clocks. This student/intern will conduct a comparative genomics analysis of teleost fish species to identify highly conserved genomic regions as a foundation for designing a universal epigenetic aging clock.
The internship will last for 4 months, and compensation is based on degrees attained. Students currently enrolled in and/or recent graduates of Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in biology or computational biology are eligible to apply.
