Overview
Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute (GMGI) is an exciting independent marine research institute that is addressing critical challenges facing our oceans, human health, and the environment through innovative scientific research and education. Genomic technologies are providing an unprecedented opportunity to explore and understand the ocean’s vast biodiversity, promote sustainable and healthy oceans, and inspire new discoveries that impact human health. GMGI is looking for an innovative Scientist using data-driven approaches to advance our understanding of marine organisms and ecosystems. We are especially interested in the application of machine learning and other advanced computational techniques to mine and interact with datasets to discover novel biological processes or to unravel the complex relationships within communities that are critically important to the function and resilience of marine ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success as a driving force in advancing innovative research with a strong publication record and an interest in translating discoveries into applied outcomes in conservation, fisheries, or human health. We will consider scientists at all career levels, but particularly encourage applications from scientists with established research programs that fit GMGI’s mission.
