Direct Report: Senior Manager, Plant Engineering
Position Summary:
Employee will work independently and as a team to maintain the Aquarium and Animal Care Facility (ACF). This includes front of house and back of house areas to insure a great experience for our guests and our coworkers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist technician(s) in support and labor for the following disciplines: HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), machinery repair, and carpentry; also, painting, and general fabrication.
- Reviews and becomes familiar with the drawings and technical aspects of all systems within the Aquarium.
- Assist in maintaining equipment maintenance records as required and generates necessary reports, including budget requests and purchase order justifications.
- Assists in the continuing development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program for all facilities and life support equipment in the Aquarium.
- To perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 years’ maintenance experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Requires a working knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements for the work being performed.
- Ability to paint, assist in installation of all plumbing and pumping systems using PVC, CPVC, polyethylene, FRP, copper and black iron pipe.
- Ability to assist in fabrication of structures and equipment as required using wood, fiberglass (FRP), glass, acrylic and related materials.
- Average computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
- Above average ability to organize, manage time and set priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible and shift priorities to meet departmental requirements.
