Role Description:
Gazelle Wind Power is seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to join our team as we develop our groundbreaking floating platform technology for the Offshore Wind market.
Electricity generation is the single biggest emitter of CO2 in the world. If you are passionate about the environment, renewable electricity is where you can make an impact. Gazelle Wind Power is at the forefront of the Floating Offshore Wind sector, a sector that could supply the global demand for electricity 11x over according to the IEA.
We are looking for a dynamic and technically aware individual to boost our business development team. As a Business Development Specialist, you will get to analyse the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) for our solutions, and to compare this to competitors, seek out cost effective supply chains, develop responses to bid requests from global developers and support investment raising activities.
This position offers the opportunity to help develop an early-stage technology and business as well as to cut global CO2 emissions. A hybrid working pattern will allow you to spend time with the dynamic young team based in the beautiful town of Viana do Castelo, as well as working efficiently from remote locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting RFIs and RFQs: Collaborate with the Commercial & Systems (C&S) Manager to prepare detailed and technically robust RFIs and RFQs, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all technical aspects.
Grant Applications: Support the writing and submission of grant investment applications, focusing on articulating the technical components and benefits of GWP's innovative solutions.
Cost Model Development: Assist in developing and refining the cost model for GWP's floating wind platform, leveraging your technical expertise to ensure comprehensive and accurate cost analysis.
Technical Documentation: Maintain the main technical documentation related to GWP's mooring system and floating substructure, ensuring all information is up to date and easily accessible to facilitate the RFI/RFQ process.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the C&S Manager, COO, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of technical and commercial activities.
Customer and Investor Engagement: Engage with potential customers and investors, providing technical insights and answering inquiries to build strong relationships and drive interest in GWP's solutions.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve GWP's commercial and technical strategies.
Qualifications:
Technical degree, with preferability for Environmental Studies or any field of Engineering.
Technical Acumen: Easiness in understanding technical terms and engaging in technical conversations.
Commercial Acumen: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner, being able to tailor the conversation according to the listener.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and summarizing complex technical information in a digestive and comprehensive way.
Creativity: Given the company is at an early stage, with a novel technology, there is no normal way of doing things and no previous experience to fall back on. The role relies heavily on creativity to develop appropriate data and ways of working.
Determination: The obstacles to doing things for the first time are numerous, ranging from small details to major challenges, all must be overcome.
Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
Adaptability: Flexibility to work remotely and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
