Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) is the only UK registered charity focused exclusively on the conservation and sustainable development of the Galapagos Islands.We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic person at the beginning of their fundraising career to help our Fundraising team raise the money needed to protect Galapagos. You will provide practical support across Trusts & Foundations, corporate partnerships, individual giving and major giving, helping the team to communicate well with supporters, keep accurate records and deliver fundraising activity efficiently.This is an entry-level role. You do not need previous professional fundraising experience: we are looking for someone with strong organisation and communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. You will receive support and training from colleagues across the team and gain experience of several different areas of charity fundraising. What you’ll deliver- Reliable administrative support that helps the Fundraising team work efficiently and provide an excellent experience for supporters.- First class fundraising administration, including CRM (database) management and supporting the modernization of our back-end infrastructure- Supporting our team on the production of bids, proposals and relationship management- Well-prepared communications and materials, including thank-you letters, emails, mailings, event information, research and briefing notes.- Practical support for fundraising campaigns, events, donor reporting, prospect research and team planning across all income streams. What you’re responsible for- Entering and updating supporter and donation information accurately on GCT’s database, in line with GDPR and internal procedures.- Processing and acknowledging donations, preparing thank-you communications and helping respond to supporter enquiries.- Supporting Trusts & Foundations work through prospect research, application administration, deadline tracking and gathering information for proposals and reports.- Supporting corporate fundraising through prospect research, meeting preparation, partnership administration and delivery of agreed communications and benefits.- Supporting individual giving campaigns with data preparation, mailings, digital activity, fulfilment and monitoring responses.- Supporting major giving through prospect research, donor communications, meeting preparation and accurate record keeping.- Helping organise fundraising events and meetings, including invitations, attendee lists, materials and follow-up.- Maintaining orderly digital files, trackers and shared documents, and assisting with regular fundraising reporting.- Working flexibly across the team and undertaking other reasonable duties that support GCT’s fundraising, including occasional evening events. Person SpecificationExperience- Experience of organising tasks, information or records through work, education, volunteering or other activities.- Experience of communicating with people in a helpful and professional way.- Experience using Microsoft Office or similar software, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel. Skills and qualities- Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.- Good written and verbal communication skills.- Careful attention to detail and confidence working with data and numbers.- A professional, friendly and helpful approach to supporters and colleagues.- An ability to maintain confidentiality and handle personal information responsibly.- A willingness to learn, take feedback and develop new skills.- An ability to work independently when needed and contribute positively to a small team.- An interest in GCT’s mission and the conservation of the natural world. Desirable, but not essential- Experience in a charity, fundraising, customer service, administration, events or a voluntary role.- Experience using a customer relationship management database or maintaining contact lists.- An interest in conservation, sustainability or international development.- Ability to speak Spanish.
