Provides the supervision, training, exercises, and monitoring of the CCG Public Safety Dive Program and related services in support of the delivery of Search and Rescue program.

The immediate need is to staff one (1) English essential GT 04 position on a temporary/full time basis. A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions on a temporary or indeterminate basis within Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard, Western Region

EDUCATION:
· A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
· Valid Diver Certification Board of Canada (DCBC) Restricted Surface Supplied Supervisor certificate (Must have held this certification for a minimum of five (5) years).
· Valid Diver Certification Board of Canada (DCBC) SCUBA Supervisor
· OEM maintenance qualifications at the “Technician” level or higher.
EXPERIENCE
· Experience of Breathing Air Equipment Maintenance, including Breathing air Test Bench Systems.
· Experience in supervising SCUBA and Surface Supply type diving operations.
· Experience in leading training activities
· Experience in the instruction of adults.
EDUCATION
• Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to occupational diving, adult education, or project management.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
• Hyperbaric Chamber Operators Certification.

• Experience in performance management of employees

Reliability Status security clearance - Reliability security clearance
• Valid Medical for Occupational Divers (new hires: Transport Canada Marine Medical or Health Canada Category 3 for Divers)
• A Valid Canadian Passport or a Valid Passport from a recognized Passport Issuing Authority
• Must be willing and able to wear a Respiratory Protection device and meet the standard of the CCG Respiratory Protection Program – RPP
• Willingness to wear and maintain a uniform per Canadian Coast Guard standards, inclusive of CSA approved safety footwear, and maintain job related personal safety equipment
• Willing and able to maintain Occupational Certification required for the position including those required to meet Departmental health and safety standards for a Public Safety Diver
• Must be willing and able to perform overtime work as required, often on short notice;
• Must be willing and able to work shiftwork, rotating hours, and variable hours of work;
• Must be willing and able to travel by air, land and by sea.
