Intent of the process
This selection process will be used to staff positions within the Canadian Coast Guard in Prince Rupert, BC. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis.

• Possession of a Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyman Electrical Trades Certification
ORGANIZATIONAL NEED
Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard are committed to establishing and maintaining a workforce representative of the population it serves. • Experience in field or remote site operations
• Experience in the construction, modification, maintenance, repair, or life cycle management of CCG Aids to Navigation, associated facilities, or assets.
• Experience working with helicopters.
• Experience working at height
• Experience working in the Pacific marine environment and basic seamanship
• Experience in the installation of building exterior protective materials
• Experience in building concrete forms, and placing and finishing concrete
Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance
• Valid Health Canada Medical
• Willing and able to travel for up to 3 week periods of time to remote sites via trucks, boats, and aircraft.
• Willing and able to work weekends, overtime, and travel on short notice
• Willing and able to access remote sites over rugged terrain and work outdoors in extremes of environmental conditions on land and at sea.
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to climb towers and work at heights in excess of 2.4m
