Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions in various locations within the Restoration Center of Expertise in the Fraser and Interior Area.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in topographic or construction surveying using total station and processing survey data.
Experience in project planning, design or cost estimating.
Experience in supervision of excavation or construction projects in or around natural water bodies.
Experience using AutoCAD or Civil 3D (or comparable software packages) for civil construction projects.

Successful completion of an accredited Civil Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering post-secondary program
Small Vessel Operators Certification
Wilderness First Aid Certification
Environmental Monitor Training
Swiftwater Certification
Radio Operators Certification
Bear Awareness Training
Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Certification

Experience with Real Time Kinetic Global Positioning System technology (RTK GPS).
Experience planning and conducting data collection programs (e.g. water levels, water quality).
Experience using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technology and/or Pix4D photogrammetry software.
Experience in fish habitat restoration, or sediment and erosion control.
Experience using computer software such as Microsoft Office to process and evaluate data.

Operational Requirements:
Must be willing and able to physically conduct difficult field work under adverse conditions.
Must be willing and able to work variable hours outside regular normal working hours (weekends, statutory holidays) to meet field season objectives.
Must be willing and able to travel in small crafts including boats, float planes and helicopters.
