PROJECT COORDINATOR – Contracting and Conservation Accounting

Dexter, MI

Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Coordinator familiar with Contracting and Conservation Accounting based in our Great Lakes/Atlantic Regional Office located in Dexter, Michigan.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with bidding out projects, writing contracts to subcontractors, tracking subcontracts, change orders, and insurance/bonding requirements, completing lien releases
  • Assist biologists with writing contracts with grantors, partners and/or subrecipients, tracking required forms and other documents
  • Routing contracts to Director of Operations for signature
  • Maintain project documentation in a standardized and organized manner
  • Adhere to government and internal Procurement regulations
  • Process payables from vendors
  • Process customer payments
  • Perform various administrative tasks as needed

Key Qualities, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a comparable position
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
    • Familiar with MS Dynamics or other accounting systems
    • Basic knowledge of project management concepts
    • Basic knowledge of construction documentation and public works requirements
    • Well-organized and detail oriented
    • Self-motivated, lots of initiative, eager to learn, able to work with minimal supervision, but willing to ask questions and seek direction if needed
    • Able to maintain professional demeanor while working within tight deadlines with a variety of people and personalities.
