CREO is a NYC-headquartered 501(c)3 think-and-do tank with a mission to leverage investmentas a tool to build and scale climate and sustainability solutions that support the decarbonizationof industries and amore sustainable future for the benefit of all.We have less than 10 years to activate financial and capital markets to support the necessarydecarbonization transition and meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Family offices, familyfoundations, and other asset owners have a critical role to play and CREO is helping them buildthe knowledge, relationships, and pipeline of investment opportunities to accelerate thedeployment of capital.CREO is seekingup to three individuals for internships. The CREO Intern program matchesselected applicants to specific projects in climate and sustainableinvesting for a period of 4-8weeks, typically in the late spring and/or summer. Interns deliver sector-specific research, dataanalysis, or market intelligence toeducate and informCREO’s membership, whichincludessome of the most active family office investors pursuing climate-related investments. Theprojects vary and CREO works collaboratively to create a project that matches the talentsandinterestsofselected applicants, while producing a deliverable that serves immediateinvestingneeds of the membership. Past projects have included a primer on carbon dioxide removal,segmentation of aquaculture investment opportunities, andanalysis of sustainable materials forapparel, among others.CREO’s sector experts provide guidance,mentoring and support for direct connections withinvestors.Each intern works closely day-to-day withthe sponsoring project leader for theproject. 2022 CREO Internship Projects

Project 1:Blue Carbon Analyst Note(8 weeks)The goal of this project is the support investor decisions around allocations and particularopportunitiesfor investment in Blue Carbonby cataloguing diligence resourcesandcollecting up-to-date market information.CREOdeeply engaged with leading Blue Carbonstakeholders and this project offers the chance participate in defining a new vertical forclimate investing.The intern will:

oAuthor a literature review ofblue carbon, including pastblue carbon projects,characteristics of each, known carbon sequestration of each/needed research todetermine carbon sequestration,and thetechnology status;

oSpeak to experts to determine the potential timeline for development of blue carbonprojects in each category, barriers to development, what is needed to developmarkets for these projects;

oSpeak to investors to identify what is driving interest in blue carbon credits, mostinvestor-ready projects, first-hand experience on supply/demand imbalance, howinvestors might evaluate the investable of projects

oIdentify, research, and write analysis for 2 complete case studies as outlined below

This project is led by theHead of the Oceans and Aquaculture Investor Coalition.

Desired Qualifications

•Coursework orrelevantworkexperiencearoundclimate related investing.This shouldinclude an understandingof finance, sustainability metrics, and climate.•Skill in writing for a financial audience. Comfort with writing on deadline, includingstructuring analysis from scratch, developing coherentarguments, and constructing clear,concise prose.•Experience with quantitative analysis, especially statistics and financial calculations.•Meticulous attention to detail•Comfort working in a multi-time-zone setting that leverages cloud-basedplatforms for workactivities and communications, including Outlookand Slack.•Demonstration of the ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion•Fluency in Englishrequired,fluency in other languages desirable•Experience with climate, sustainability, and/or non-profit organizations preferred

Compensation

CREO compensates interns at a rate of $25/hr. CREO offers flexible schedules to accommodatepersonal obligations. Authorization to work in the U.S., U.K., or Canada is required
