Working at CorPower Ocean you will be part of a world class team, determined to make big impact. We are on a mission to bring reliable and competitive wave energy to the world. We offer a high degree of autonomy, combined with great personal responsibility. CorPower Ocean is a global leader in wave energy, with a technology that has shown game-changing performance. Your work will contribute to the global transition to renewable energy by unlocking one of the largest untapped sources of clean energy on earth.

The Role :

We are looking for a Marine Operation Analysis Engineer with a background in hydrodynamics and affinity with naval architecture, to join our Marine Operations team. The focus of the role is our purpose-built USV for WEC installation. You will use hydrodynamic modelling and dynamic analysis to check the feasibility of design concepts, build insight into vessel behaviour, and support design decisions and optimisations as the vessel matures.

Alongside the vessel design work, you will support the planning, analysis and execution of offshore installation, maintenance and retrieval of CorPower’s wave energy converters (WECs) and associated systems, making sure that vessel design and operational requirements are developed together.

This role includes practical exposure to offshore/marine installation analysis using Orcaflex and related tools.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop hydrodynamic models of the WEC installation USV and use them to check the feasibility of design concepts and proposed changes.

  • Analyse vessel behaviour (motions, seakeeping, stability, operability) to provide input to design decisions, trade-offs and optimisation studies.

  • Perform installation, retrieval, and marine operation analyses for WECs, mooring systems, dynamic cables, and deployment equipment.

  • Use OrcaFlex and related simulation tools to evaluate hydrodynamic loads, motion responses, and installation feasibility.

  • Support planning and execution of offshore operations, including developing installation procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.

  • Analyse vessel behaviour, lifting operations, and weather windows to optimize marine campaigns.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, marine) to ensure robust designs and operability.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of CorPower’s installation methodologies and simulation tools.

  • Participate in offshore operations when needed, providing on-site engineering support and feedback for analysis validation.

  • Support pilot installations in the field.

Skills and requirements :

  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.

  • 2–5 years’ experience in marine operations or offshore installation analysis, ideally within offshore renewables, oil & gas, or marine engineering.

  • Proven experience with OrcaFlex for dynamic analysis of installation and operational scenarios.

  • Understanding of naval architecture principles, such as hydrostatics, stability, seakeeping and hull–equipment interaction.

  • Experience with diffraction/radiation tools (e.g. Ansys Aqwa, WAMIT) or with vessel design tools.

  • Knowledge of marine systems such as moorings, dynamic cables, lifting equipment, and deployment tools.

  • Familiarity with offshore operations planning, vessel capabilities, and marine standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Your personality, experience and interest in the field are the most important and what is most highly valued at CorPower.

As a person:

  • You are striving for excellence, put quality into everything you do

  • You are self-motivated and constantly seek the most efficient ways to work

  • You always search for simple and elegant solutions to difficult problems

  • You love to learn new things, and take pride in constantly developing your skills

  • You are persistent, knowing it takes stamina to reach pioneering goals

  • You see your tasks through to completion

  • You are comfortable in presenting your solutions internally and externally

  • You are data driven and strive to always back your points with solid analysis

CorPower Ocean has a highly diversified team with many nationalities and backgrounds, all working towards the same goal. This is something we are very proud of.
