Role :
We are looking for an ambitious person with relevant electrical and instrumentation engineering experience to join our international team. Do you want to take a key role in the development of wave energy?
Responsibilities :
Owner of the electrical instrumentation, automation and network systems, and Extra-Low voltage power distribution within the Wave Energy Converters and the wave farm infrastructure
Manage the Central Control System module to meet performance, schedule and budget targets
Establish requirement specifications for systems and components such as: sensors, actuators, network equipment, digital I/O, industrial PC, control cabinets, etc.
Establish optimal control communication through industrial fieldbus, such as: EtherCAT, CAN bus, Modbus TCP, wireless protocols (LTE, radio)
Design the system according to relevant standards, such as IEC, DNV-GL, etc.
Interface with other module owners to support implementation of module requirement specifications
Perform failure mode, effects and criticality analysis for modules and system
Perform design and built verifications including functional testing
Investigate new solutions to improve performance, reliability or manufacturability
Support offshore installations
Skills and qualifications :
You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant background of developing instrumentation and automation systems for industrial applications with a track record of successfully taking new products through planning, designing, manufacturing and commercialization. Having worked with harsh environments such as offshore, mining or other challenging sectors is a plus. You may have a B.Sc or a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering or related disciplines, but your personality, experience and interest in the field is the most important. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written.

Developing industrial systems for autonomous, reliable, responsive, real-time control
Testing, commissioning and troubleshooting on these systems
Previous product responsibility, from one-off prototypes to volume products
Applicable standards for marine environments, control systems & machine safety
Instrumentation measurement technologies (encoders, strain gauges, temperature, position sensors)
Robust & modular system design for high availability
Various communication protocols, including in particular CAN, EtherCat and TCP based communication
Networking solutions including redundancy protocols (for example RSTP & PRP)
Integration of radio, satellite and/or cellular phone as redundant data links together with fibre as primary link
Low-level communications (physical, IO-Link, serial)
Electrical design tools such as EPLAN
