Causa Natura is a non-profit civil association that aims to promote the improvement of public policies on natural resources to achieve their efficient management, with respect for human rights, with equity, justice and sustainability. To meet this objective, Causa Natura AC carries out various research tasks, the use of information technologies, investigative journalism and strategic communication to achieve better forms of governance in the management of natural resources in Mexico.

Job profile:

The coordinator of the Administration Unit will have the general objective of supervising that the financial and material resources in the organization's custody are used correctly, complying with the legal framework and the organization's codes of ethics. The person who occupies this position will have the challenge of consolidating an administrative system that complies with the best accounting audit practices and both national and international administrative regulations to guarantee transparency and accountability of civil organizations.

Requirements you must meet to apply for the position:

  • Professionals with a bachelor's or master's degree are sought in the areas of administration, accounting or another career related to the position profile.
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring and maintaining administrative, financial and accounting management systems.
  • Knowledge of administrative, financial, logistical and human resources rules and procedures.
  • Work experience in the administrative and/or accounting area of ​​non-governmental organizations, civil organizations or international organizations.
  • Advanced knowledge of the English language.
  • High organizational level and pro-activity.

If you think you meet this profile, review the following responsibilities of the position:

  • Carry out the proper implementation of accounting and administrative monitoring systems required by the organization and by its donors.
  • Maintain control of compliance with tax obligations before the SAT in coordination with the accounting office (monthly statements, money laundering reports, reports as an authorized donee, among others).
  • Ensure the proper execution of payments corresponding to employer contributions before the IMSS, payroll tax and any other entity.
  • Implement the guidelines and control systems for contracting services and purchasing materials.
  • See for the proper preparation of invoices, as well as payroll receipts of the personnel hired in accordance with existing legal guidelines.
  • Support the external human resources office in the general tasks of drawing up contracts and safeguarding human resources files.
  • Prepare financial reports for foundations, donors and any other figure involved in these areas with the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director in the implementation of continuous improvement processes in the administrative area for institutional strengthening and long-term sustainability of the organization.

Job Specifications:

  • The place of work is in Mexico City.
  • Contract initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension once this trial period has passed.
