Are you ready to apply your engineering knowledge in a real-world environment and gain hands-on experience supporting the electrical distribution system that powers communities across Nova Scotia?
We're looking for an Electrical Engineering Co-op Student to join our Regional Engineering team in Sackville for the Summer term. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and technical professionals, contributing to projects that support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our distribution network.
As a member of our team, you'll gain practical engineering experience, develop your technical skills, and build a deeper understanding of utility operations while making meaningful contributions to ongoing projects and initiatives.
What you’ll do:
During your work term, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support the operation, planning, and design of the electrical distribution network.
- Review customer servicing submissions and fault-level requests.
- Update underground drawing records and support markup of new revisions.
- Gather and analyze field data related to distribution assets.
- Develop an understanding of electrical overcurrent and protective devices used on the distribution network.
- Collaborate with engineers, technical staff, and operational teams on a variety of projects and initiatives.
- Gain exposure to utility engineering practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Bring:
We're looking for curious, motivated students who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow their engineering skills.
You will be a strong candidate if you:
- Are currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study.
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Our ideal candidate is a self-starter and leader with proven organizational skills and must be able to perform effectively in a team environment.
- Enjoy working with technical information, data, and engineering systems.
- You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as demonstrate strong facilitation and presentation abilities.
- Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn in a professional environment.
