The reporting location for this position is Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory).
OPC is hiring an Environmental Scientist (Water Quality Program Manager)
The California Ocean Protection Council (OPC) is hiring an Environmental Scientist (Water Quality Program Manager) to help advance strategic priorities and inform policies related to improving coastal and marine water quality in California. The Environmental Scientist will lead OPC’s efforts related to water quality and will be responsible for supporting implementation of the OPC’s mission, the California Natural Resources Agency’s policy initiatives, and embedding equity and environmental justice into programs and actions related to reducing impacts from point and non-point source pollution, including plastic pollution and marine debris, ocean acidification and hypoxia, harmful algal blooms, emerging contaminants, and additional threats to coastal and marine ecosystems.

Flexible Work Schedule: This position is considered Remote-Centered, which means incumbent would telework 50% or more of the time within a work month from an alternate work location. The position incumbent can telework with a management approved telework agreement and schedule. OPC staff are required to work from CNRA headquarters located in Sacramento a minimum of two days a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions
**• **This position is eligible for telework, in accordance with CAL FIRE’s telework policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
