Job Description and Duties

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in our Examination Unit (EU)! We're looking for a dynamic Staff Services Analyst to join our team. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of developing and administering department-wide examinations that shape the future of our workforce. You’ll collaborate with program management, internal teams, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), and the State Personnel Board (SPB) to ensure our exam and selection processes deliver top-tier results. This position may be eligible for a telework opportunity in accordance with departmental policies and operational needs. Beginning July 1, 2026, employees will be required to work in-person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. Additional in-office days may be required based on operational needs.

Working Conditions

Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day.
Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
Attending meetings and hearings, working with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Occasional travel may be required (10%), when necessary to provide consultation, attend job fairs, chair interviews, or participate in or conduct training.
