Position Summary

Builders Vision is hiring a Vice President to join our growing active ownership team to support the execution of our investment stewardship strategy. We have recently designed a philosophy and process to engage with companies, our asset managers and peers relating to oceans, food & agriculture, and energy impacts. The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Strategic Relationships and Active Ownership with designing, facilitating, and implementing workstreams and finding opportunities to scale and influence.

This position will interface with a diverse cross-section of sector and functional experts at Builders Vision and externally among corporations, investors and influential market stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to work on the forefront of how investment influence can drive real world change with an organization willing to take risks and maintain a long-term purpose driven view.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports the design and execution of stewardship strategies alongside the Head of Investment Stewardship to drive the firm's impact and long-term value across key sectors.
  • Collaborates with internal investment teams to translate broader investment theses into tangible company or manager engagements. This could include manager research in the due diligence phase or ongoing collaboration following an investment.
  • Analyzes company and manager data to establish best-practice frameworks and minimum expectations, working in close coordination with the impact and measurement team.
  • Harnesses emerging technologies, specifically artificial intelligence, to pilot and scale novel stewardship operations—streamlining the review of complex disclosures, identifying key stakeholders, and enhancing the team's ability to track data and execute engagements efficiently.
  • Co-facilitates high-stakes discussions with corporate leaders and investors alongside the Head of Investment Stewardship, frequently partnering with in-house subject matter experts.
  • Authors and oversees a broad portfolio of stewardship materials—including public statements, engagement roadmaps, internal messaging, and presentation decks—to communicate the firm’s philosophy and showcase thought leadership.
  • Synthesizes feedback from engagement workstreams to pinpoint opportunities, address challenges, and strategically define the next phases of portfolio integration and reporting.
  • Reflects the organization’s culture, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure the firm's core values and commitment to Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (JEDI) are actively reflected in all stewardship initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate activity into measurable results that align with organizational goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in investments, management consulting and/or corporate strategy or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with a record of high academic achievement
  • MBA and / or CFA (or equivalent credential) a plus
  • Experience across different asset classes is preferred
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to boost productivity is highly preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience facilitating and synthesizing complex discussions among diverse stakeholders
  • Strong interest in, and basic knowledge of, climate change challenges and solutions
  • Sector expertise in oceans, food & agriculture, and/or energy is a plus
  • Empathetic, humble listener
  • Proactive, can-do attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (i.e. ability to synthesize information into key themes, insights and implications).

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; specific job related experience and training; job location, licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Builders Vision, we apply a total rewards philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation terms. Expected annual base salary range for this role is $166,000- $197,000, plus this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary long-term incentive award, and benefits.
