Contract duration: 1-year fixed-term contract
Remuneration: 29,700 - 33,264 BZD gross per annum.

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organisation that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally. Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organisations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe.
Summary job description
We are currently recruiting a Programme Coordinator to support our evolving operations in Belize. This position is an integral part of Blue Ventures’ global conservation programme and the functions also allow for technical inputs and advice on strategy, policy formulation, programme design, development, and implementation. Overall responsibilities may include the design, development and execution of a project or portfolio of projects, including all aspects of the project management cycle including but not limited to project budget planning, project monitoring and evaluation, reporting and communications. The functions may also include performing a wide variety of complex technical or professional work activities in a variety of contexts.
The Programme Coordinator will play a pivotal role within the Belize Team and report directly to the Programme Manager. This position will involve occasional or regular travel to collaborate closely with international colleagues, partners, field teams, and communities.
The successful candidate will be a motivated, proactive and highly organised individual, with technical knowledge of high-level inputs to support the development, implementation and execution of the Belize Program’s project portfolio and contribute to achieving the objectives of BVCs Global Conservation Programme and strategies
We are looking for an individual who is open to new ideas and embraces innovation, who can demonstrate experience in fisheries management and building effective working partnerships for conservation and/or development. Assessment of applications will include candidates’ alignment with BV’s core values and mission to support human rights-based approaches to marine conservation and fisheries management. You will thrive in environments that are collegiate and inspiring, and be able to demonstrate experience of working independently and solving complex problems in challenging situations.
