Mangrove and Seagrass Ecosystem Senior Officer

Contract duration: 2 years fixed-term (with the possibility of extension thereafter)
Remuneration: Competitive salary based on experience as per national salary bands
Salary Band: IDR 246,000,000 - IDR 330,000,000
We rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities
Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally. Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe.
Summary job description
We are currently recruiting a Mangrove and Seagrass Ecosystems Senior Officer to support our evolving operations with community-based mangrove and seagrass mapping, monitoring, management and governance, supporting our Indonesia and Timor-Leste teams, as well as partners in Southeast Asia. Reporting to the Fisheries Lead, this is a full-time role based in Blue Ventures’ Denpasar office, with regular travel to work closely with overseas colleagues, partners, field teams and communities.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and lead the rollout of tools and training to our regional teams and partners in Southeast Asia to help communities monitor and manage mangrove and seagrass ecosystems and associated fisheries, working closely with the global Technical Knowledge team.
