Ocean Job Board
Blue Robotics
About Blue Robotics
At Blue Robotics, we enable the field of marine robotics with affordable components and systems. What does this really mean? We design cool tech for use underwater that allows tons of people and organizations to pursue their audacious dreams of exploring and learning about our oceans and waterways.
Blue Robotics is looking for a Quality Inspector to join our production team building underwater vehicles, thrusters, lights, sensors, and other robotic components. As the Quality Inspector, each component that you examine will go out into the world to explore shipwrecks, study endangered species, map the ocean floor, and generally advance human understanding of the oceans. Pretty cool!
On the flipside, even a small product failure can lead to a failed mission for our customer. Because of that, our in-house quality team is driven to deliver excellence in every product. Our Quality Inspectors are the type of people who notice the tiny details that others might miss and speak up about potential issues or inconsistencies. Our Quality Inspectors work efficiently and independently for the majority of the day, and collaborate with the rest of the team to share their findings after inspections or investigations. We are pursuing the highest standards of reliability and excellence, and collecting all the data while we do it.
Having manufacturing experience is a huge plus for this role, but don’t worry, most of our wonderful team have never built robots or robotic components before. Without a background in manufacturing, you still may be a great fit if you have worked in a machine shop, a healthcare setting, or worked as a field technician installing equipment for clients. Our ideal candidate has a sense of urgency, is very detail-oriented, accustomed to updating notes or entering notes in a computer program, and is very independent.
