About this exciting opportunity
Join AIMS and help deliver innovative conservation aquaculture initiatives that support reef restoration and marine sustainability outcomes. As the Conservation Aquaculture Project Officer, you will coordinate commercial partnerships and operational delivery across a diverse network of industry participants, including tourism operators, marine contractors, fishers and aquaculture organisations. You will play a key role in managing stakeholder relationships, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring risks associated with external engagements are effectively managed. Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the planning and production of coral seeding devices through the Conservation Aquaculture program.
- Managing communications between AIMS teams and industry partners.
- Developing and implement efficient procurement and contracting workflows, including RFQs and contract management.
- Monitoring supplier performance, project timelines and deliverables.
- Supporting the integration of research requirements into operational activities and contracts.
- Building strong industry relationships while proactively managing operational and reputational risks.
- Providing project support to the Pilot Deployments Program Management Team.
About you
You are a proactive and collaborative project professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working across scientific, operational and commercial stakeholders. You bring strong relationship management skills, sound judgement and a proven ability to balance project delivery objectives with governance and risk considerations. Your degree in science, environmental science, marine science, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience will complement your substantial experience in a large complex research planning environment.
You will demonstrate proven project delivery experience, including the ability to identify challenges within client and stakeholder engagements, assess requirements, develop practical solutions and successfully manage competing needs.

- AIMS AOF Level 4 salary ($100,818 to $114,730 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuation
- Full-time, Temporary (Labour hire) opportunity to 30 June 2028
