About this exciting opportunity
AIMS and the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP) have developed a unique capability and expert-led approach to assessing intervention risk, with this position playing a central role in its delivery. This opportunity has arisen to provide continuity during a period of leave and support the ongoing delivery of AIMS' risk science and programs.
As Research Project Manager, you will contribute to globally significant work aimed at improving understanding of the risks associated with marine ecosystem interventions, including coral reef restoration and adaptation initiatives. The role supports the delivery of key themes and scientific outcomes aligned with the AIMS Strategy 2040. Working across multiple projects, you will provide high-level project management support, coordinate expert-led risk assessment processes, and contribute to the development and delivery of intervention risk activities. About you
We are seeking an experienced science and project management professional with a strong background in coordinating complex programs, expert advisory groups, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities. Skilled at synthesising complex scientific and technical information, managing risk, and translating research into clear, policy-relevant advice and high-quality written outputs. You will hold tertiary qualifications in science, engineering or a related field or equivalent advanced knowledge.
You will be recognised for building strong relationships across government, research, industry, and community stakeholders, with excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. You are passionate about supporting evidence-based decision-making, environmental risk management, and the sustainable management of the Great Barrier Reef and tropical marine ecosystems.
