About this exciting opportunity

As our Model Integration Specialist, you will assist in the development and implementation of models, tools and software for the purpose of holistic decision support under uncertainty. You will work with domain experts and research scientists to connect and integrate ecological modelling frameworks to support the development and maturation of AIMS’ decision support capabilities and infrastructure. The role involves developing data translation layers between disparate modelling systems, implementing automated workflows for model interoperability, and ensuring consistent data flow across integrated platforms for comprehensive ecosystem simulations.

About you

Underpinning your suitability for the role will be your Masters in Maths, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields, or a Bachelors’ with demonstrated experience developing scientific and technical infrastructure and platforms. You have extensive working knowledge of at least two programming languages (Julia, Python, or C/C++/Fortran preferred) with experience developing interoperability solutions between different environments, languages, and modelling paradigms. You are able to collaborate with research scientists to understand requirements and translate them into functional integration solutions.   • AIMS AOF Level 4 salary ($97,503 to $110,957 per annum, pro rata) plus 15.4% superannuation
  • Part-time (36.76 hours per fortnight), 6-month Temporary (Labour hire) opportunity to 30 June 2026
  • Located in Perth (WA) or Canberra (ACT)
