The Coral Reproduction & Aquaculture team is focussed on understanding the reproductive biology of corals and to develop methods for upscaled aquaculture production of corals for restoration and adaptation. We have a number of opportunities to join their team in Townsville as outlined below:

  • Research Scientist - Coral Conservation Aquaculture
  • AIMS AOF Level 5 salary ($122,283 to $134,056 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuation
  • Full-time, 2-year Fixed Term opportunity

    As AIMS’ Research Scientist - Coral Conservation Aquaculture you will be experienced with the concepts and designs of upscaled aquaculture systems for Conservation Aquaculture of corals, you will provide scientific leadership in designing data collection and research projects. This role will be outward facing and will liaise relationships with industry partners, as well as contribute to planning future research proposals and the design and execution of future conservation aquaculture research.

  • Full-time, 2-year Fixed Term opportunity

    As AIMS’ Research Scientist - Marine Restoration Ecologist you will lead critical research on the biology and ecology of corals, which will be particularly focused on early coral life stages. Working as a Marine Restoration Ecologist you will be managing technical staff and teams to execute deployment research projects in the field both nationally and internationally through the Pilot Deployment Program (PDP), AIMS-SECORE projects, and others.
