About this exciting opportunity
As a Mechanical Engineering Technician at AIMS, you will be responsible for manufacturing custom mechanical components using a wide array of production techniques and materials, tailored to meet diverse and varying design specifications.
You will be using your advanced technical proficiency, exceptional attention to detail, and strong problem-solving capabilities to ensure all components meet varying quality standards and align precisely with design intent. You will play an active role in developing, refining, and maintaining AIMS scientific equipment.
About you
As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will hold a Certificate IV in engineering, equivalent certified trade or competency base course coupled with demonstrated experience, knowledge and proficiency in CNC machine programming, setting and operation.
You will bring your expertise in operating medium-capacity equipment commonly used in general engineering machine workshops, ensuring efficient, safety and precise machining processes along with a level of experience in 3D CAD modelling and integrated CAM software.
Our ideal applicant would have experience in Research and Development within the marine environment.
