Working closely with the Marine Operations team and Dive Officer, your role will provide diving and technical support for research activities being conducted by AIMS. As an experienced diver, you will use this knowledge to provide critical maintenance and testing of AIMS’ diving equipment which will include SCUBA regulators, BCD’s, SSBA equipment, gauges, associated safety equipment, compressors and shipboard diving equipment, as well as undertake diving duties as required.
When not working in the field, this role will support the Dive Officer with a range of compliance, maintenance and administrative activities, including maintenance of electronic equipment database and service records and coordinating external servicing of equipment. On occasions you will assist other areas of the Marine Operations team.
About you
We are seeking an experienced dive technician who understands the requirements of using and maintaining a range of diving equipment used in scientific diving operations including SCUBA, SSBA and high-pressure compressors with manufacturer training and certification where applicable, who is confident in logistics, organisation and servicing requirements in accordance with legislation. You will demonstrate your experience with:
Scientific / commercial diving experience, certified to AS2815.2 Part 2 Diver
Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, particular relating to scientific and high-risk diving
Maintenance of Decompression Chamber, SCUBA, surface supply and associated equipment
LF High risk work licence
Previous experience in a similar role, relevant trade qualifications and experience using asset management software and an MR Licence would be highly desirable.

AIMS AOF Level 4 salary ($90,321 to $102,784 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuation
