Part-Time Director of Food Service Sales
Are you a seasoned food service sales professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the world of sustainable food? As our Part-Time Director of Food Service Sales, you'll play a pivotal role in scaling our presence across the U.S. foodservice industry by bringing our award-winning, domestically grown kelp products to more tables nationwide.
🌱 About the Role:
This is a strategic, high-impact part-time role (5–10 hours/week) perfect for an experienced sales leader ready to drive revenue while championing sustainability. You’ll lead the charge in expanding our food service channel, focusing on independent restaurants, fast-casual chains, sushi outlets, universities, and other institutional partners. You’ll work directly with our COO and Sales Strategist, while collaborating closely with our in-house Business Development Representative.
🪸 Key Responsibilities:
- Drive sales growth by developing and executing a nationwide food service sales strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, restaurant groups, fast-casual chains, and institutional food buyers.
- Leverage your existing network to generate leads and close deals.
- Run high-impact client meetings and transform opportunities into signed POs.
- Expand our distribution footprint through new and existing channels.
- Champion our mission by introducing ocean-friendly products that support resilient coastal economies.
- Provide excellent customer service and help cultivate long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate across departments to align sales strategies with broader business goals.
🌾 What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years in food and beverage sales, with deep food service experience
- Strong industry network and established relationships with key decision-makers
- Track record of selling into sushi, seafood, or fast-casual segments
- Proven success setting up and scaling distribution networks
- Strategic thinker who’s also willing to roll up their sleeves
- Experience in high-growth, mission-driven food businesses
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Passion for sustainability and ASF’s mission

💸 Compensation:
