Production Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as the full-time Production Supervisor. A successful applicant will have some experience working in an operations management role in food manufacturing. This individual also needs to work well as part of a mission-driven team and be adaptable and flexible to the frequent changes in an exciting start-up atmosphere. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations and works as part of the ASF Production Team.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for efficiently overseeing and maintaining operations in a food manufacturing environment. In this role you are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and a safe food environment. Responsible for training and coaching employees towards to ensure productivity and quality goals are achieved. Responsible for making suggestions and recommendations regarding staffing, operational issues, and other department-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the efficient operation of the Kelp and Ready to Eat Production lines.
  • Ensure employee safety, food safety, quality and efficiency goals are met.
  • Ensure proper sanitation practices are followed.
  • Develop skills of staff through monitoring, coaching and training both for ASF full time employees and temps.
  • Ensure that production schedules and efficiency goals are achieved.
  • Ensure that ASF quality standards are maintained and continuously improved.
  • Knowledgeable of all jobs, tasks and functions on the Manufacturing Lines to be able to fully support them.
  • Able to operate all equipment and knowledgeable of equipment capabilities.
  • Daily monitoring of production standards and goals.
  • Completes production records daily.
  • Monitor payroll for accuracy and adherence to policies.
  • Builds a cohesive team that works towards departmental and company goals
  • Achieves department budget goals.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Follow and enforce with staff all company policies and procedures with regard to safety, quality, sanitation, personnel, maintenance, equipment, and food safety.
  • May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week periodically as business needs require
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Must have proven leadership skills, a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs on a regular basis daily and to stand for several hours at a time
  • Must be able to operate electrical and manual pallet jacks and fork lifts
  • Must be computer literate – Microsoft office and excel preferred.

Job Type:

  • In-person at our headquarters in Biddeford, Maine
  • Full Time (Mon-Thurs 6:30AM-5PM)

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
