We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Product Engineering team as a Product Manager, Software, to help define our product vision, our requirements, and our strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with our Manager, Software Development, our internal Product Owners, and our Executive team to ensure our products meet our customer needs and business objectives.

Our software products are the backbone of our FishVue EM suite of products and are utilized globally by thousands of clients. Coupled with our on-vessel hardware solutions, our software tools help fisheries regulators and industry members ensure sustainable fishing practices, protect endangered species, and combat illegal fishing.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap, taking all strategic goals into account and communicating updates to stakeholders.
  • Translate business strategies into technical requirements, including specifications for software development.
  • Communicate a clear vision and build excitement for our product solutions throughout the organization.
  • Monitor overall product performance against business objectives and KPIs, adjusting as necessary to ensure continued success.
  • Analyze the value of proposed work in terms of cost of effort vs projected ROI and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Act as the conduit for external and internal customer feedback and requests, working with Product Owners to ensure that they are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee and manage the product throughout each stage of its life cycle — from introduction through to maturity and even decline.
WHAT DO YOU OFFER?
  • Proven experience in delivering cloud-based software applications.
  • Experience delivering IOT products.
  • Ability to develop and maintain product metrics and KPIs for a full suite of products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all levels within the organization.
  • Experience and proven knowledge of product design and development (on or off the tools is fine).
  • High level of business acumen and the ability to analyze data and determine appropriate outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and market research skills.
  • Ability to travel as required for client support and market research.

WHAT ELSE?

The position is based on a 37.5-hour work week – Monday to Friday with 4 weeks paid vacation. This position is based in our head office in Victoria, British Columbia, but we would consider a fully remote role for the right candidate. Occasional travel to the head office would be required.

Archipelago is focused on getting the job done and not watching the clock, but we use these figures as our guidelines for our team members.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000 based on experience.
