AQUARIUM OF THE BAY / BAY.ORG: Life Support Systems Engineer. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities and Life Support Systems, this position operates, maintains, monitors, and repairs the aquarium’s life support system. This is a full-time position.Essential Functions:- Inspect, perform preventive maintenance, repair, replace, and upgrade the aquarium’s main, holding, and satellite exhibit life support systems- Oversee daily life support system logs and keep preventive maintenance logs up to date- Notify management immediately of any failures or significant issues related to life support equipment- Create and update SOPs for life support systems and train staff on procedures- Manage projects for system upgrades and new installations; order supplies, parts, and equipment- Research technologies and cost-saving measures; liaise with Animal Care staff; direct staff as neededEducation & Experience:- High school diploma; AALSO certification preferred- 2–5 years in life support systems or related industry; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookPhysical Requirements & Work Conditions:- Frequently stand (up to 10 hours), sit, walk, reach, crouch, crawl, climb, balance; lift up to 50 lbs; work indoors and outdoors, around and over waterLanguage Skill:- Ability to read/interpet safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write correspondence and present programs/proposalsTo Apply: Send a resume and cover letter with the subject line “Life Support Systems Project Manager – [Your Name]” to hr@bay.org.
