AQUARIUM OF THE BAY / BAY.ORG: Life Support Systems Engineer. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities and Life Support Systems, this position operates, maintains, monitors, and repairs the aquarium’s life support system. This is a full-time position.Essential Functions (under direction of senior management):- Inspect, perform preventive maintenance, repair, replace, and upgrade the aquarium’s main, holding, and satellite exhibit life support systems.- Oversee daily life support system logs; update logs to reflect changes to systems or components; keep preventive maintenance logs current and notify management of failures/issues immediately.- Create written protocols and update life support systems SOPs as needed; train staff on new/changed procedures.- Project manage life support systems upgrades and new installations; order supplies, parts, and equipment; research new technologies and cost savings; liaise with Animal Care staff; direct staff as needed; other duties as assigned.Education & Experience: High school diploma; AALSO certification (preferred); 2–5 years in the life support systems field or related industry; excellent communication and customer service; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Physical Requirements: Frequently stand (up to 10 hours), sit, walk, reach, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, carry, and talk/hear; lift 50 lbs; work inside and outside in varying environmental conditions; comfortable working around and over water.To Apply: Send a resume and cover letter with the subject line “Life Support Systems Project Manager – [Your Name]” to hr@bay.org.
