Aquarium of the Bay Guest Services Associate – Full Time and/or Part-TimePosition SummaryThe Guest Services Sales Associate is often the first and last impression of Aquarium of the Bay. In this dynamic, guest-facing role, you’ll deliver exceptional service while driving ticket, retail, and promotional sales. You’ll actively engage guests, promote Aquarium experiences, and help create memorable visits that inspire connection to the Bay. This position reports to the Department Manager and Assistant Manager.Key Responsibilities:• Welcome and engage guests across all service areas, including ticket booths, gift stores, front desk, galleries, and other bay.org locations• Recommend tickets, upgrades, and merchandise to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue• Participate in commission and incentive programs• Accurately process ticket and retail transactions, including responsible cash handling and reconciliation• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked sales areas• Support special events and programs, including evenings and weekends• Uphold Aquarium policies, including attendance, scheduling, uniform, and grooming standards• Maintain reliable, punctual attendance• Contribute as a team player and support additional duties as neededSchedule & Availability:• Full-time and/or Part-time, non-exempt position (up to 5 days per week) – Part-Time up to 30 hours• Must be available weekends and holidays• Shifts scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with flexibility for additional operational needs• Up to 8-hour shiftsQualifications – Education & Experience:• Some college coursework or equivalent experience• At least one year of customer service and sales experienceSkills & Abilities:• Friendly, outgoing, and confident communicator• Strong sales and guest engagement skills• Ability to work independently and collaboratively• Cash handling experience, including reconciliation and security• Basic math and computer proficiency• Ability to interpret safety and operational procedures• Flexible and willing to cover additional shifts as neededPhysical Requirements:• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours• Work on concrete floors, stairs, and occasionally outdoors in varying conditions• Lift up to 40 pounds• Frequent reaching, speaking, and active guest interactionTo ApplyPlease submit your resume and cover letter describing your interest and relevant experience to hr@bay.org.
