AQUARIUM OF THE BAY / BAY.ORG: Life Support Systems Engineer. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities and Life Support Systems, this position operates, maintains, monitors, and repairs the aquarium’s life support system. This is a full-time position. Essential Functions include inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrades to the aquarium’s main, holding, and satellite exhibit life support systems; overseeing daily LSS logs and updating them; maintaining preventive maintenance logs; creating and updating SOPs; training staff; managing LSS upgrades and new installations; ordering supplies and equipment; researching new technologies and cost savings; directing staff; liaising with Animal Care; and other duties. Education & Experience: High school diploma; AALSO certification (preferred); 2–5 years in life support systems or related industry; excellent communication and customer service; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Physical Requirements: stand up to 10 hours; sit, walk, reach, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, carry; lift 50 lbs; work inside and outside in varying conditions; comfortable working around and over water. Language Skill: ability to read/write procedures and present programs.
