Under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities and Life Support Systems, this position operates, maintains, monitors, and repairs the aquarium’s life support system. This is a full-time, exempt position. Essential Functions: Inspect, perform preventive maintenance, repair, replace and upgrade the aquarium’s main, holding, and satellite exhibit life support systems. Oversee daily life support system logs and update as needed. Keep accurate preventive maintenance logs; notify management of failures or significant issues. Create written protocols and update SOPs. Train staff on new or changed procedures. Manage projects for life support system upgrades and new installations. Order supplies, parts, and equipment. Research latest technologies and cost savings. Direct staff as needed and liaise with Animal Care. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: High school diploma; AALSO certification preferred; 2–5 years in life support systems or related industry; excellent communication and customer service; proficiency with Microsoft Office. Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in varying environmental conditions, including around and over water.
