Anthropocene Institute Oceans and F3 Aquaculture Program Coordinator

The Anthropocene Institute administers grants related to ocean conservation and is also an Administrator of the F3 (Future of Fish Feed) project. The F3 Project has launched incentive challenges and organized large-scale meetings to help accelerate the replacement of fishmeal and fish oil in aquaculture feeds with innovative alternatives. The Anthropocene Institute seeks a full-time Program Coordinator for administering ocean grants, and to coordinate the F3 project. The F3 Project activities include running the incentive contest (F3challenge.org), managing research programs on feed trials, and organizing a week long, 100 + person meeting. The Anthropocene Institute is a small and entrepreneurial organization. Responsibilities: ● Maintain website content and databases related to F3 and Anthropocene Oceans ● Manage on-going research projects, and coordinate among a diverse and high level group of researchers, and company practitioners globally ● Facilitate payments, track accounting, budget management ● Keep track of research results, analyze, and assist with write-up of findings ● Track and attend relevant conferences on behalf of the F3 Team ● Organize and coordinate marketing content with our media liaison ● Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda ● Produce F3 events and create event collateral in coordination with the F3 Team ● Assist co-founder to coordinate key meetings, events, reservations, etc. ● Take notes, summarize, and form action plans ● Manage and see through logistics, eg signing contracts to forming research ideas ● Administer grants: budgeting, assessing proposals and reports, tracking progress ● Apply for research grants, and write grant reports ● Perform ad hoc research on research projects of interest

Skills and Qualifications: ● Passion and experience in ocean conservation and aquaculture ● Proven experience in a program coordinator function in both academics and industry is preferred with a track record for successful project organization and completion ● Experience in organizing and tracking multiple tasks, and keeping projects on track ○ Listening, and clear written and verbal communication is important so that the coordinator can take notes, summarize, understand implications, and follow-up ○ Excellent time-management and organization, and the ability to keep multiple projects on schedule in a fast-paced environment is important ○ Financial management, Project budgeting and accounting experience ● Tech savvy - comfortable with data management, and software testing, Website management and experience using Wordpress ● M.S. or Ph.D. in a scientific field, preferably aquaculture with a background in feed ○ Research experience ○ Publication track record Location: Applicants living in the Bay Area will be prioritized but the majority of the work will be completed remotely.

Start Date: Beginning mid-May 2023. Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 per year plus Full Benefits - Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance as well as a 401k with employer match of 3%.
