Summary: Under the direction of Port Engineer, this position is responsible for performing regular scheduled maintenance duties on all day tour vessels including assisting Captains with oil changes; for assisting Port Engineer with mechanical repairs; and for keeping all parts, filters, and equipment areas on dock stocked, organized and neat.

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to walk on uneven deck surfaces crossing from vessel to vessel. Able to bend, twist and squat regularly throughout the day.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Must possess current Drivers’ license and have record with no recent violations.
- Applicant should be able to pick up at least 50 pounds in line of duties.
- Be comfortable working around diesel engines.
- Posses some experience with mechanic’s tools.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, some weekends and some holidays.
- Must be drug free (pre-employment screening and enrollment in random drug testing program is Coast Guard required).
- Must be able to work from mid April to the end of September with little or no interruption.
- Ability to perform engine oil changes on a fleet of four plus large marine diesel engines of varying makes and ages.
- Work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist in monitoring of maintenance inventory (i.e. lube oil, filters, tools, etc.).
- Communicate problems to Port Engineer.
- Keep dock and shop areas clean, safe and free from hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Six months’ experience in a similar position.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience in a similar position with progressive responsibilities.
- Familiarity with US Coast Guard regulations
- Proficient with computers, technology and the Microsoft Suite
- TIG, MIG, sheild and/or flux core welding experience.
- Be flexible in prioritizing daily work activities.
- Be able to communicate effectively with a small team of fellow employees.
- Be able to work unsupervised.
- Prioritize safety above all else.
- Able to build and maintain relationships with other employees in various departments.
